Stay at Lamai beach which is about right. It is not too busy as Chaweang. It is not isolate island. It is easy to find thing to eat .

Lamai beach is on the east coast of Ko Samui, Thailand. The southern third of the beach has the widest strip of sand, is the best for swimming, and has the most nearby eating and drinking and shopping options. To the north, the water doesn't get deep enough for swimming until you're quite some distance out, and the further north you go, the narrower and quieter the beach becomes, eventually becoming rocky towards the headland.

Chiang Mai (New City) was founded in 1296 by King Mengrai as the capital of the first independent Thai state, Lanna Thai (Kingdom of One Million Rice Fields). It became the cultural and religious center of the northern Tai, those who had migrated from southern China to dwell in Thailand, and remained so throughout the turbulent period of recurring Burmese attacks. The Burmese finally captured Chiang Mai in 1556 and occupied it until King Taksin retook the city in 1775, driving the Burmese forces back to near the present border. Burmese influence on religion, architecture, language, cuisine, and culture, however, remains strong. The city stands on the Ping River, a major tributary of the Chao Phraya River. Many activities in Chiang Mai area such as cooking class, Zip lining, sunset at Doi Suthep do not miss night market.

Day 2 10th July 2012 Bangkok Relaxing day

Relax in Bangkok 

Today is a free day.  The family decided to relax and swim. It is idea to relax after long flight as the Wiffels did. Swiming, walking around Eastin hotel area or go online since the hotel offer free wire fire.

In the evening, Guide Phet and I met them and took them to restaurant near by.

There are 7 people in my compact car (1500 CC),  the Wijffels (5 people), Guide Phet, and Me, Haha,, Please do not ask how can we fit in the car. I drove the car and Mr Cameil sit in the front with adjust the seat further front. 5 peoples sat in rare seat and they know how the fish feel like in fish can. It is such a pretty that we did not take picture in the car.

I took them to Isan restaurant which normally take 5 minute ride. Due to Bangkok traffic, it took us 25 minutes since we struck in one junction for 20 minutes. So we have many good conversation about Thailand and Holland instead. The topic cover about politics, people , and educations.

After arrival the restaurant, we order local Thai food which consist of mine taste dishes such as Pad Thai, fire chicken, stir vegetable, and some spicy salad for those who love spicy.

Follow by walk around victory monument for shopping at the end of the trip. Ivar gor one T-shirt for 150 Baht which is 4 Euro by estimate and we try some ice cream. And I took them back to hotel.
