Amazing Bangkok

23 Sep 2013 . We have a chance to organize Private tour for 2 people, George and his mother. This is my first time to go with a guide. I waited guide Opal and tourists at Wild Orchid Villa's lobby at 7.30 a.m. and we moved off at 8.00 a.m.

The first destination is the Reclining Buddha temple or Wat Pho. This morning has the weather is good.

Explore the Reclining Buddha temple or Wat Pho, the oldest and biggest temple with the largest number of pagodas (95 in all) in the city. Also, it was the first open university of Thailand which offered courses in several branches of knowledge like literature, astrology, medicine and massage. It's well known for its huge Reclining Buddha,46 m. long and 15 m. high.

Tourists are happy and interested in the history of Thailand and Buddhist Art.Next , we went to Visit the Emerald Buddhatemple, then we arrived, it's raining but there are many tourists in the area

The Emerald Buddha temple, the exquisite temple contains an image of Buddha carved from a single piece of jade and one of the most holy and revered of religious objects in Thailand, then head to the Grand Palace, the spectacular Royal Palace with intricate architectures, an area of 218,400 sq. meters and is surrounded by walls built in 1782. The length of the four walls is 1,900 meters. Within these walls are situated Government offices and the Chapel Royal.

After that, we took a long-tailed boat along the Chao Phraya River to see Thai lifestyle, contrast between luxurious condominiums and ruined houses along both sides of the canal. Pass the Grand Palace and the Royal Barge Museum which houses ceremonial King's Barges decorated with multi-color glasses, gilt and stuccos.

We got off at WatArun or the temple of Dawn to visit the tallest prang in Thailand. It was built in the concept of Mount Meru, the resident of God located on the center of the Universe. Then, take a ferry to the other side of the river.

We had lunch at Methavalai Sorndaeng restaurant. Authentic Thai food with amusing oldies song as the background. Even though this shop has been famous since 1957, but some Thai people is clueless about this place.

After finished lunch, drop off tourists happily.

Meet the Wijffels and summary of 21 days Thailand trip (31 July 2012)

Meet the Wijffels and trip review of Thailand 21 days journey.

In Late evening of July 31th, 2012, I took sky train to visit the Wijffels, family of 5 from Holland at Ibis Bangkok Riverside.

We met at hotel lobby and then take short ride with hotel shuttle bus to BTS sky train. We are going to have dinner at Thai restaurant.

It take just 5 minutes to get to sky train station with comfortable and open air tuk tuk ride provided by hotel.

Hymke took 2 coins or 20 Baht to get BTS ticket for two station ride. You may try to put 2 of 2 Euro coins on the machine since it the same size. Ummm, just kidding, who is going to do that.. Since one of two Euro coin worth to 80 Baht.

Inside the BTS sky train is nice , clean and safe ride for 5 minute on BTS sky train .

Then we walk along the small street for 5 minutes to the restaurant. The restaurant name Bussaracum. This is an idea place for those who want to try authentic Thai food , especially luxury in Royal Thai cooking style and presentation.

Above is one of the dish we had. I never had set full set of royal food with well decoration any where else before. We try appetizer set which including chor moung, Kratong thong, toong Nern yuang, Rhoom and Goong Sorn Glin. You need to eat by order left to the right (see it from picture) .

Why do we need to eat by sequence? That is a good question. The answer is Chor mung is stream meal consist of minced chicken, peanut and flour which is the heaviest food . At the end, eating Goong Sorn Glin, which is marinated shrimp ceviched in lime juice and ginger wrapped in lettuce leaves . The last one is light and give refreshment at the end.

Then we have our own yummy main dished.

The dinner went well and we talked about the trip how do they feel and what need to be improve.

Over all Summary

The Wijffels love Thailand trip and enjoin their time, This is a vacation of a life time. They love trekking in Chiang mai , the tour guides in each destination were great. During arrival in every place , our tour guide waiting for them (except their first arrival Samui), The trip went well and seamless in each connection.

Central of Thailand

Since they had free day to explore Bangkok by them own which is fun and easy. Early of the trip Guide Phet, escort them every where before so they know how to take sky train and go around. The bking trip around China town is great to see back road of Bangkok. The floating market is smaller than they expect but ok to have a look. Trip to Khanchanburi was really great. The exotic small resort in the middle of jungle and river island resort was interested. They love Earawan waterfall event scare of small fish in the waterfall.

North of Thailand

Taking train to Chiang mai was comfortable. Guide Ting pick up even the train late for 1 hour. They decided to go to canopy ride in the jungle trip which is really nice to try. The highlight is trekking and stay in the village which is unforgettable experience .

South of Thailand

Koh Sok national park is fun with tubing experience and so on. But they feel unsaved during travel by boat on the big dam. Comment ! they will love more to stay on the water rafting house. The hotel in each destination is nice and convenient to reach every where. They have a little problem on Koh Toa since they are by themselves on the beach town and one of the kids had allergy and could not meet the doctor for better care. However, every is great.

I took some picture , kept VDO and voice record with my HTC phone. However, i format the phone and lost all data. This is my bad and i felt bad about this for several weeks.

Later, Cameil email me and told me they have over 2,000 Photos and 20 Videos which i can use. This is the origination of this blog story..
