Day 2 Nan Trip - Pua - Salt Mind- and Royal project at Phufah

This article aims show about my trip  to Nan  so my writing is almost like diary.  I think it would be better to get Idea how was it like in Nan. Journey begin

Pua District 

We woke up early at 05.00 a.m. The temperature was 20 C, a bit chilly outside. We drove to small resort for see Sunrise. The resort are on the top of the mountain about 5 kilometer from Pua province. 




Turn out that the Sun did not show up as we expected. It was foggy due to slash and burn from the farmer.

We head back to Pua district, we walk along the morning market. Many come here is a different focus. My visit is looking for fresh soy milk and local dish. I did not get any special dish at all. Our tour guide, ms Mam, did. She came with funny looking vegetable and fresh water seaweed cook. It was good experience for me.

But i still keep my stomach space for traditional food , Kao tom or rice soup with mined pork and mushroom.

Cotton Print Hill Tribe

We left the resort and drove to close by village. It is Tai Lua , a small hill tribe group migrated from Southern of China long time ago. They make a living by farming and create handicraft product. Today, we got a chance to see they produce print fabric and silver jewelry.

The fabric is made of cotton and print design and deep is natural color of cram tree. It is the same technique as in Phrea. But it was fun chat with Nong Mai who took care of business and would love to have a chance to travel like us.

Then, we go to small jewelry shop. The owner was generous to show how she create the product. It is amazing with the color the silver jewelry which is the same technique as at Gold from Sukhothai.

Curvy Road to Boa Klua

We leave around 11.00 hrs. Then drive to Salt factory district (Bor Krua) . The distance was only 50 kilometers but it took us for 2 hours ride since the road was curvy around the mountain.

We made a stop to see the Chomphuphuka (expect to blossom at this period). We missed it , we came late for 1 week. However, the amazing ride bring energetic and most of people enjoy the view and scenic.

We arrive Bor Kua view for lunch. We noticed that the beloved princess came a couple days before us. See the nice setting of table set decorate by many color of bean.

We staved and ordered many dish for lunch.

Bor Kua is down hill on the valley. It was surprise that small town with less than 2000 house hold became a district. It may  be because it was major salt production place since the ancient time.

The restaurant is located on the hill. We looked down steam and see our tent that we are going to stay overnight this night. It looked like amazing place to stay. It brought old memory back when i were a girl scull. 

Phu Fah


After lunch, we continue the trip to Phu Fah. We would like to visit the royal project belong the princess Sirinthorn. She passion to create the job for hill tribe since make Nan natural back . If the preservation of fountainhead is success , the natural problem such dough , flood and landslide will decline.

We arrive a little late. It was many fruit fly (แมลงหวี่) all around the area. Local people said due to slash and burn, the fly came out all over.

Anyway, we have got a chance to buy fresh mulberry and juice. Some walked around and get nice picture from flower garden as well as tea farm.

U-long tea is a kind of tea that plant in the palace.


Salt Mine

We drove back and take short stop at salt mine. The old lady and man sat and walk around to make salt and sell. They look very happy and enjoy the chatting with us and our local tour guide.

The water were pumped from the mine. Then heat on the big pan. The salt grand will happen after heat for a while. It is a little odds. Many thing that were heated it will melt. It was opposite from my knowledge but there are so many thing on the earth that i do not know.

We drove and arrive Oun I Mang resort. It is a Wow at the beginning. It was lovely location. I checked my tent and baht room. Everything is very basic and good enough for one night.

We got all get into the tent and shower and have dinner and then go to bed very early.

There are electricity but no luxury thing which people now a day have. There are no TV, refrigerator, and heater.

I went to bed early at 09.00 since nothing to do.
