Thailand Road Trip is for who
It is better to understand how is it like to be on the road trip . Why bother spend time driving in small town and waste the time on the road. As LJ Biz experience, we think Thailand road trip is for...
1. People preference is always difference . Some prefer to go slow, see small town with less develop and meet the real local people along the way.
2. Those who would love non-touristy place will prefer this trip. You can see a lot of rice paddies. The rat meat from rice field shop or cobra meat shop along the street may be seen in some highway.
3. For those who love historical site and world heritage site. The around trip has a lot to see on the way.
4. See and stop at some extra ordinary places and village is possible.
5. Experience local food since there are no fancy restaurant at five star hotel. The limited choice is local food which you can experience.
6. Travel with friends is also fun so you will have a lot of time together on the road. Well, especially bring your girl friend or boy friend with this trip is a good idea. You may know more about their temper.
Caution for around trip visitor
1. There are no fancy hotel during the trip. Some town has very little tourist traffic therefore , you should be ware that the tour operator can only pick the best in town for your stay which is around 3 star hotel standard in Thailand. The bed standard, service standard, food standard may not reach you expectation.
2. Travelling time on road is around 3-5 hours by average. but you will have decent stop for after 2 hours ride . It can be sightseeing, coffee break or rest room.
3. You will be with tour guide all all day long and many thing may pet pee you such as weather, food and so on. Therefore the trip is not a kind of easy to fussy person which will bring lot of stress for the whole group.

Please avoid elephant trekking as well as any other activity involving such as "seing", feeding etc. That includes the government supported "care centers".. Elephants will be killed in national parks to get their calves into business, corruption is very common in Thailand.
ReplyDeleteIf you really want to see a "non-touristy" place, I recommend Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi, in a week-day monday-friday, there is good chance you could do camping completely alone in one of spaciuos campsites, get chance to see elephants and many other mammals in wild. Tents available for rent at campsites.

Another good destination among many others, Khao Yai, compared to Kaeng Krachan a bit more tourists there, but great national park with good chance to see wild elephants any many others;

Thank you for your review. It is a good chance to see wild elephant in Khoa Yai and Keang Krachan National park during week day. It is more chance to see in early morning and late afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThere is also some of elephant park which illegally bring elephant from the wild to serve tourist. But some of them are has home elephant by mate. In Thailand, Elephants and people has long term relationship before the tourist came. We use the labor in many terms such as pull the logs, transportation and war. Visiting Thailand and riding elephant seems to be norm for tourist now a day. There are other view of this service as well helping with income distribution ,and riding elephant experience (tourist entertainment) .
